Uprooted / 2020
Uprooted is a ceramic tiles project. It’s a visual reflection of the effect caused by the recurring occurrence of uprooting, that leaves behind the empty space that once occupied an olive tree.
The multiplication of the same ceramic tile creates a pattern, forming hollow spaces that show the space in which an olive tree once used to stand tall.
Since 1967 till our days around 750,000 trees have been uprooted in Palestine by Israeli powers.
In addition. the pattern shows the connection that all the trees have to each other as well as to the land.
